Player profiles

It’s been a long time coming, but I’m happy to announce that SFC Statistics finally has player profile pages. You can now click on a player’s name on the player list, or in the team list from a random match, and you can see detailed information on their Sydney FC career. One of the aspects that took the most effort is the career visualisation, which shows the part they played in every match in their Sydney FC career, including matches missed due to injury, suspension, etc. Check out Ali Abbas to see a dramatic return from long-term injury, Rhyan Grant for a journey from bit-part youngster to 90+-minute mainstay (via two missed seasons), or BobĂ´ for non-stop goals.

I haven’t forgotten about the women either, although their pages unfortunately have a bit less info because it is harder to come by.

There are plenty of other stats that I’m planning to add to these pages in time, but the most obvious thing still missing is an actual player profile. I’m not much of a writer myself, so I would love it if somebody (or somebodies) would like to contribute to the site in that way. Please contact me if you’re interested in this and I can give you more info on what I’m after (hint: not a peer-reviewed encyclopedia entry).
