Scarves throughout the Cove bays continued the striped pattern, while two message banners dropped down from Cove Heights read “A Weak Enemy Makes Easy Prey”.
In the week after the match, The Cove released a statement detailing the onerous approval process imposed by the APL and Venues NSW for the tifo, and revealing a last-minute APL directive to abandon the tifo due to the knife attack at Bondi Junction earlier that day. The Cove announced that they would not be creating any further tifos until the approval procedure was improved.
