A large pullover of the “Port of Sydney” flag — the same one flown a month earlier.
The flag itself was proposed by Harbour Master John Nicholson as part of a signal system for the harbour, published in 1832. It was not an official flag but is now used as a House Flag for the Sydney Maritime Museum and a decorative flag for the City of Sydney.
