The SFCU Player of the Season Award is chosen by SFCU members, and has been running since the 2011-12 season.
After each match, voters can allocate 6 votes to players in any way they want. The three players who get the most votes in a match are awarded 3 (1st), 2 (2nd) and 1 (3rd) points towards their Player of the Season tally (in the case of a tie, points are split equally). During the season, the Man of the Match winner is announced after each match, but the 2nd- and 3rd-placegetters are kept secret.
At the end of the season, the player with the most points is the SFCU Player of the Season. If players are equal on points, tie-breakers are the number of 1st places, the number of 2nd places, the number of 3rd places, and the total of the average number of votes they obtained across the season.
The more people who vote, the more representative the result will be of the SFCU community’s collective opinion. So please submit your votes here after each match. Voting stays open for about a week. Note that you must have an SFCU account in order to vote.
